What is an IP-PBX?

An IP PBX is an IP enabled telephone switching system which allows the user to switch from local analogue lines to VoIP services. IP PBXs differ from conventional PBXs, with the ability to voice and data across one line. So with an IP-PBX system, users can benefit from both traditional and VoIP voice calling, as well as internet access all on one line.

Can VoIP services be used over mobile broadband?

In some cases it is possible, though some networks do block VoIP access. For those that do allow VoIP it should be noted that where mobile broadband signal is low, you may experience significant latency when talking.

How fast does my internet connection need to be to fully benefit from VoIP calling?

As with all online services; the faster your connection, the better. Although the average DSL or cable connection is usually enough to benefit from decent quality VoIP calls.

Do I need a computer to make VoIP calls?

No, surprisingly it is not necessary to have a computer to take advantage of our VoIP services. We will provide you with an adaptor that will connect your phone to a high-speed internet connection. It is, however, necessary to have a computer to take full advantage of the many features that VoIP systems have to offer.

Using VoIP, can I call any phone or just other VoIP phones?

Absolutely, you can call any phone using our VoIP services. Unlike some other providers, we don't restrict the types of phone that you call, so if you need to contact someone, whoever they are, our VoIP services allow you to do just that.
